Teradata, the global leader in enterprise data warehousing, announced today that Etisalat Misr, Egypt’s largest telecommunications service provider, has selected Teradata to build an enterprise data warehouse (EDW) after a strict evaluation process including the world’s best known information technology vendors. The EDW will support Teradata’s customer relationship management solution, Teradata Relationship Manager (TRM). The order included a logical data model and professional services support.
Etisalat Misr recognized the need for a powerful and advanced enterprise intelligence system that would scale and grow quickly with the business. Etisalat is also a leading mobile operator and a technology innovator, operating a Next Generation Network, providing its mobile users with a range of services and applications such as GPRS, 3.75G and Black Berry. The EDW will provide Etisalat Misr with a single view of its business for analysis across departments and systems – with a focus on customer insight.
“Customer relationship management starts with creating great customer experiences – and we are committed to providing the best. This requires technology sophistication and analytical power – of the kind we anticipate that Teradata is very capable of delivering,” said Sabri Yahya, Chief Information Officer, Etisalat Misr.
“Teradata demonstrated its understanding of our unique information requirements and has a strong background in the telecommunications business as well as in detailed analytical intelligence,” said Mohamed Abdelrahim, Manager Data Warehousing, Etisalat Misr.
Looking for an environment to support its growth plans in terms of scalability, availability, performance, multi-user environment and mixed workload demands, Etisalat Misr selected Teradata after several workshops, site visits and benchmark tests. With a complete view of the business and their customers, decision makers are able to streamline operations and make decisions faster.
“We are pleased to be selected by Etisalat Misr after a rigorous selection process. This is an organization known for excellence in customer service and technology innovation,” said Hermann Wimmer, president of Europe, Middle East and Africa, Teradata.
“Etisalat knows that the quality of customer experiences begins with the quality of customer intelligence,” said Ahmed Naguib, Teradata’s account manager for Etisalat.
The latest EDW release, Teradata 12.0, includes advanced features such as high-performance parallel database technology, a cost-based optimizer, a full suite of data access and management tools as well as robust data mining software. Expert training and the advice of the industry's most experienced data warehouse consulting professionals come with the package.
The new Teradata Relationship Management software adds dramatic flexibility and simplicity for users while integrating analytical and operational customer management, leveraging active enterprise intelligence from the Teradata system with the latest Java-based software. In marketing practice, Teradata’s unique approach to multi-step customer dialogs have been found to achieve much higher response rates and more profitable returns than conventional marketing approaches.
