Jinfonet Software, a leader in reporting and operational business intelligence solutions, announces the General Availability of JReport 9 Service Pack 1, providing improved performance and map enhancements.
Performance Improvements continue to be the focus of this Service Pack. Through internal system tuning and minimizing redundancy, JReport now has further improved scalability and response time for on-demand report generation, report delivery, and interactive reporting and analysis. Benchmark results show over 20% average performance gains against JReport 9. Specific areas of improvements include Table Object, Excel export speed, font layout computation, and up to 20 MB less memory used for each report.
JReport 9 also shows that by moving from JDK 1.4.2 to JDK 1.5 and above the system throughput nearly doubles, due to JDK 1.5's improved multi-thread implementation. JReport 9 dynamically determines the JDK available and uses the most efficient methods available.
"It is always our goal to provide a robust, high performance, minimal resource consuming reporting tool for our valuable customers," said Shuyan Liu, Jinfonet VP of Engineering.
Interactive Map has been enhanced in this Service Pack. JReport Designer now provides a Map Editor for users to easily design maps with rich properties such as formatting and conditional formatting of map objects. With the help of a data-binding wizard, users can bind the report data with the map areas to provide drill down to each group or drill to a detailed report.
JReport 9 Service Pack 1 is now available for immediate delivery.
